Your Trustees regularly review and revise the policies that govern the Trust, to ensure that all aspects of the benefits program remain competitive, and that it is administered competently and cost-effectively. Recently, the Plan Member Policy and Member Leaves Policy were updated. Keep up to date by viewing these and other policies online.
Thank you to all who participated in part one of the Plan Member Survey conducted by Cathexis. We’ve already received the results, and are assessing the findings. We had a great response to the first survey, which was completed by 498 members. The majority of members feel their needs are “completely” or “mostly” met by AOMBT, but there are areas where we need to do better. Read more about what members are saying in this one-page summary.
You’ll receive the second survey in your inbox this week.
We've added a new option to our Investment lineup!
What is a Non-Registered Plan (NRP)?
An NRP helps you save beyond the limits of your registered plans while benefiting from similar carefully selected investment options and lower fees offered under your group plan. You can use these savings for any purpose, including supplementing your retirement savings.

Midwives working in an approved Expanded Midwifery Care Model (EMCM) with alternative coverage through an employer plan, or a Midwifery Education Program (MEP), or who anticipate having less than 10 Courses of Care in the upcoming calendar year, may apply for Non-Participation in the AOMBT plan. If you’ve applied for non-participation in the past, it’s time to update your expected earnings with the AOMBT. Please complete the Annual Earnings Disclosure form, and submit to the Trust by December 31, 2020.

In August, the Trust launched Dialogue, a telehealth platform offering Virtual Care and Stress & Wellbeing support for midwife plan members. We’re pleased to report that 117 people have signed up so far, and members have had 151 consultations in that time. Here’s what users are saying:
“The care is thorough, quick, and I feel well taken care of! I love having my care team at my fingertips!”
Planning a trip, or wondering if you should?
While staying home is the safest option, some people have compelling reasons to consider travelling. SSQ Insurance has launched an information guide to help understand travel insurance coverage for emergency medical expenses, as well as trip cancellations and interruptions, directly related to the different risk levels issued by the Canadian government. While it can't answer every travel-related question, it can help plan members make informed decisions. Visit this interactive guide for information on what to expect in the event of emergency medical expenses, trip cancellation or interruption.
All it takes to get started on the road to wellness are small changes you can make every day. Pick one simple activity to try, and move on from there. Dialogue's Wellness Guide has some quick tips, articles, and videos to help you with your daily practice. Choose from topics like Sleep, Relaxation and Mindfulness, Nutrition, Physical Activity, or Social and Leisure Activity. Once you've made the first step, the next steps are easier to take!
