A Message from the Chair
March 8, 2025
It is with incredibly mixed feelings that I announce to our members that our Executive Director, Nicole Mellin, will be retiring at the end of March.
Nicole has been with the AOMBT for over 12 years and in that time she has steered our operations with a sure hand, an unmatched attention to detail and an incomparable commitment to the wellbeing of our plan members. During Nicole’s tenure the AOMBT has grown from a subcommittee to a fully-fledged, mature benefit and investment business. She has navigated countless industry and global upheavals and spearheaded programs and strategic changes that center the needs of midwives.
I have come to rely on Nicole’s deep knowledge of our business and calm approach to the seemingly endless changes we face at the AOMBT. I know she is looking forward to the next chapter in her life and we wish her the happiest of retirement.
I am also pleased to announce that while we search for a permanent Executive Director, our current Director of Finance, Melanie Towell will step into this role, as interim ED. Melanie has been with us for 7 years and brings a deep knowledge of our operations and strategic goals. The Trustees have had the pleasure of working closely with Melanie in her current capacity and we are confident in her ability to lead the Trust. I want to thank Melanie for steering us through this transition.
Best,
Krista Fairles, RM
