Before you go, don't forget about travel insurance!
The holidays are fast approaching, and with them, the desire to get away. Whether it's to escape the cold or reunite with loved ones, being well protected while travelling is essential. That's why travel insurance is a valuable tool for a worry-free vacation.
A quick reminder before you go: check out Beneva's holiday checklist to travel with peace of mind.
✔️ Confirm that your health condition is stable
For your coverage to remain valid, the stability of your health condition is essential. What your doctor may deem stable may differ from your insurer's criteria. If in doubt, contact CanAssistance before your departure to get confirmation of coverage. This could help you avoid unpleasant surprise if you need to make a claim.
✔️ Check your current travel insurance coverage
Before your departure, read your travel insurance policy to understand your coverage, be aware of exclusions and avoid any issues. Your travel assistance service is there to guide you.
✔️ Check the duration of your coverage
Make sure your insurance covers your entire trip duration, from departure to return.
✔️ Review federal government advisories
A tourist destination isn't always risk-free. Before you leave, check the Government of Canada's travel advisories. Your insurance may not cover you if you travel to a destination recommended against travel.
✔️ Keep your essentials handy
Have your travel insurance service phone number, policy number, and certificate number on hand. This information can be found on the back of your insurance card, available on the Beneva Client Centre or on the Beneva app.
