About the AOM Benefits Trust
Midwives are extraordinarily important, hard-working health care professionals whose wellbeing must be protected. The Association of Ontario Midwives Benefits Trust (AOMBT) understands the need to support midwives, proactively managing and protecting their financial, physical and mental wellbeing. We provide a comprehensive benefits plan to do just that.
Since 2008, the Trust has been a rapidly growing organization with a focus that remains unchanged: to partner with you, as our plan member, in your wellness journey.
For midwives just starting out, we will provide you with security and benefits coverage from the day you begin practicing.
Our membership has grown from 500 plan members in 2012 to more than 1,000 in 2020. This has strengthened our collective power. With our financial assets growing at the same pace, we are positioned to negotiate best-in-class programs for our plan members.

Whereas the AOM supports midwives through policy, funding agreement negotiations, and supporting the overall profession, the AOM Benefits Trust provides midwives’ extended health and dental benefits, income protection and leave programs, and investment plans.
